Meet Adam, WA Roofcraft owner

I’m Adam, the owner of WA Roofcraft, and I’ve been working in the roofing industry for over 26 years.

My roofing journey began straight from school, learning the trade in my family’s roofing business.

Roofing has always been in my blood— my dad started roofing back in 1968

and dedicated his life to the industry before retiring.

Working alongside him gave me a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment

to doing every job properly the first time.

Over the past 26 years I’ve worked on everything from small roof repairs to

complete re-roofs, restorations, leak detection, gutters, flashing,
and roof maintenance.

After moving to Perth from the UK, I continued my roofing career, bringing

decades of experience and traditional craftsmanship to Western Australia.

At WA Roofcraft, I believe in honest advice, quality workmanship,
and treating every home as if it were my own.

My aim is simple—to provide reliable

roofing solutions, clear communication,

and work that stands the test of time.

When you choose WA Roofcraft, you’re dealing directly with someone who has

spent a lifetime in the roofing industry

and genuinely takes pride in every job.

Roofing service questions we are asked often

Get answers to most frequently asked questions about roof repair, roof restoration and other roofing services we offer in Perth area

How much does roof repair cost in Perth?

Roof repair costs in Perth depend on the type and extent of the damage, roof access, materials required and whether structural work is needed. Minor repairs such as replacing broken tiles or resealing a small section may cost a few hundred dollars, while extensive leak repairs, flashing replacement or storm-damage work can cost significantly more. The most reliable way to determine the cost is to arrange a professional roof inspection and receive a detailed written quote. Local pricing guides commonly place minor Perth roof repairs at approximately $300 to $1,500, although complex work may exceed this range.

How do I know whether my roof needs repairing or replacing?

A roof repair may be suitable when damage is limited to a small area, such as several cracked tiles, loose flashing or an isolated leak. Roof replacement may be more cost-effective when there are widespread leaks, extensive rust, significant tile deterioration, structural sagging or repeated problems despite previous repairs. A professional roof inspection can identify the source of the damage and help you compare the long-term value of repair, restoration and complete re-roofing.

What is the difference between roof repair, restoration and re-roofing?

A roof repair addresses a specific problem, such as a leak, broken tile or damaged flashing. Roof restoration is a more comprehensive process that may include cleaning, replacing damaged tiles, repairing ridge capping, repointing, sealing and applying a protective coating. Re-roofing involves removing the existing roof covering and installing a new tiled or metal roofing system. The right option depends on the roof’s age, condition and extent of deterioration.

How quickly can you repair a leaking roof?

The response time for a leaking roof depends on current weather conditions, accessibility, the severity of the leak and the availability of matching materials. Urgent leaks should be inspected as soon as safely possible to reduce the risk of damage to ceilings, insulation, walls and electrical systems. Temporary weatherproofing may be used when a permanent repair cannot be completed immediately, particularly during severe weather.

Do you provide emergency roof repairs in Perth?

Yes, we do. Emergency roofing assistance may be available for sudden leaks, missing tiles, displaced metal sheets and storm-related roof damage across Perth area and surroundings (check our intervention area) . The first priority is to assess the situation safely, prevent further water entry where possible and determine the permanent repair required. For major structural roof damage during a storm, Western Australia’s DFES advises residents to contact the SES on 132 500 and avoid climbing onto the roof themselves.

What is included in a roof restoration?

A roof restoration typically begins with a detailed inspection and may include pressure cleaning, replacement of cracked or broken tiles, minor leak repairs, ridge-cap rebedding or repointing, sealing, priming and the application of a protective roof coating. The exact scope depends on the roof type and condition. A proper restoration should address existing defects before cosmetic coatings are applied.

How much does roof restoration cost in Perth?

The cost of roof restoration in Perth varies according to roof size, pitch, access, tile condition, repairs required and the coating system selected. Current Perth pricing guides commonly place a complete roof restoration at approximately $4,500 to $9,000 or more. A roof inspection is essential because heavily deteriorated roofs may require additional repairs or may be better suited to replacement.

How long does a roof restoration last?

A professionally completed roof restoration can extend the serviceable life of a suitable roof, but its lifespan depends on the condition of the original roof, the quality of preparation and materials, workmanship, exposure to Perth’s weather and ongoing maintenance. Restoration cannot correct serious structural defects or make an unsuitable roof permanently problem-free. Regular inspections and prompt maintenance help preserve the restored surface.

How much does re-roofing cost in Perth?

Re-roofing costs in Perth vary considerably based on roof area, design complexity, pitch, access, scaffolding, chosen materials, structural upgrades and the presence of asbestos. A straightforward roof replacement may begin in the tens of thousands of dollars, while large or complex projects can cost substantially more. An on-site assessment is needed to provide an accurate quote covering removal, disposal, materials, installation and any required structural work. Published local estimates vary widely, demonstrating why property-specific quotations are important.

Should I choose Colorbond or roof tiles?

Colorbond steel roofing is lightweight, durable and available in a broad selection of colours, making it a popular choice for new roofs and tile-to-metal conversions. Roof tiles provide a traditional appearance, good acoustic performance and the ability to replace individual damaged tiles. The best roofing material for your Perth property depends on its structure, architectural style, location, budget, insulation and maintenance requirements. A roofing assessment can determine whether additional structural or tie-down work is needed when changing materials.

How often should a Perth roof be inspected?

As a general maintenance measure, homeowners should consider having their roof professionally inspected every one to two years and after significant storms, high winds or visible damage. Older roofs, properties surrounded by trees and homes with a history of leaks may require more frequent checks. Regular inspections can identify cracked tiles, deteriorated pointing, loose fixings, rust, blocked gutters and damaged flashing before they develop into more expensive problems. Storms are more frequent in south-west Western Australia between May and October, making pre-winter inspections particularly valuable.

Can blocked gutters cause roof leaks?

Yes. Blocked gutters and downpipes can prevent rainwater from draining away correctly, causing water to overflow, back up beneath roofing materials or enter the fascia and eaves. Over time, this may contribute to timber deterioration, ceiling stains, damp walls and water damage around the property. Gutters should be cleared regularly, particularly before Perth’s wetter months and when the property is surrounded by trees.

Do you repair storm-damaged roofs?

Yes we do. Storm-damaged roofing work may include replacing broken or missing tiles, securing loose metal sheets, repairing flashing, addressing water entry and completing temporary make-safe work where appropriate. After a storm, we advise you to remain at ground level, photograph visible damage when safe and arrange a professional inspection. Do not climb onto a wet or damaged roof, as roofing materials and supporting structures may be unstable. Any personal intervention might have an impact for insurance claim.

Can roof repairs be claimed through insurance?

Home insurance may cover roof repairs when the damage results from an insured event such as a storm, hail or falling tree. It generally does not cover deterioration caused by age, poor maintenance or pre-existing defects, although coverage depends entirely on the individual policy. DFES recommends contacting your insurer promptly, documenting the damage with photographs and checking with the insurer before entering a repair contract.

Are your roofing services guaranteed?

Applicable warranties depend on the service performed, materials used and agreed scope of work. Manufacturer warranties may cover eligible roofing products, while workmanship warranties relate to the installation or repairs completed by the roofing contractor. Before approving any roofing work, request written details explaining what is covered, the warranty period, maintenance requirements and any exclusions. All warranty information are clearly included in our roofing quotation or project documentation.
